“With the Cmax-T,patients can be placed in virtually any position and transferred in exactly the same position. It offers so many possibilities!”
Powered transfer has been a reality at Varberg Hospital for many years. Easier procedures, less transfer times, reduced risk of infections, and increased patient flows are among the benefits appreciated by the hospital’s surgical teams.
Powered transfer has been a reality at Varberg Hospital for many years. Easier procedures, less transfer times, reduced risk of infections, and increased patient flows are among the benefits appreciated by the hospital’s surgical teams. When the time came for the hospital to replace its motorised tables, which were deemed too old and worn, it naturally chose the new STERIS Cmax-T table. Georg Schwarz, the hospital’s biomedical engineer, tells us why: “The surgeons didn’t even dream of giving up the advantages of having powered transfer.
That said, they were surprised by the level of comfort the Cmax-T offers! It starts up gently and is easy to turn, accelerate and brake. The Cmax-T makes transferring patients a breeze!”. Another significant advantage of the Cmax-T is its multi-sectional tabletop and accessories which allow it to accommodate most surgical specialities, from urology and gynaecology, to shoulder surgery, endoscopic surgery and more.

Located in southwestern Sweden, Varberg Hospital is renowned for being on the cutting edge of hospital technology. For example, it was one of the first hospitals to install a computer system. Once again it is taking the lead by developing a videoconference-based diagnosis system for partner hospitals.
Varberg Hospital covers the bulk of the needs of local residents and employs 1,350 staff in internal medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, obstetrics, geriatrics, and psychiatry. STERIS products are marketed and serviced in Scandinavia by our partner NMS and are used at many medical facilities in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
